I find it is very easy to say ‘I loved a book’ and ‘it was really good’ but it takes a lot more to be able to say why. The ideas in this category are designed to help book clubs and readers in general probe a little deeper into a text and enliven debate.
Like the blog itself they will not equip you to carry out a literary critique but hopefully will help you explain to a friend just why you enjoyed a book or help you give solid reasons as to how you thought a particular story let itself down.
